A freebie 365 Template just for you!

Sorry, link has expired.

Edited to add: Oops, sorry about the password glitch, it's all fixed now and you should be able to download with no problems!

Howdy, everyone. I know I've been scarce, but only because I've been so busy creating my awesome new kit, The Prince. It is all done and ready to roll, I'm just waiting on the technical aspects of PayPal and Ejunkie to get settled, and I'll have my first kit for sale on this site. I found out late last night as I went to upload the kit that PayPal has a new micropayment business account you can open with a different percentage base that is friendlier to small denomination sales. So, I had to open another account and need to get everything verified, which will take 3-4 days. So, please bear with me and I promise it will be out by next week. I can't wait to hear your opinions on it. BUT....I can't let you go without a new freebie, now can I? Here is a new Project 365 template that I created for you this week. I was inspsired by one of my traditional scrapbooking layouts I did years ago. And it includes a bonus tab PNG file that I created. Along with it, I've posted my own week 4 layout, complete with another sneak peek of The Prince papers and elements.

I'm off to drink a hot cup of Earl Grey and pack up some things for my little girl's surgery tomorrow. My littlest mater, Finn, is getting tubes in her ears, which I'm eager to have so she can stop being miserable, but scared because it's surgery and she's only one, you know?

Project 365 Week 3

Here is my week 3 completed layout. I decided to use one of the great freebie 365 templates out there that I downloaded. Hummie's style really suits me, and I love how it turned out. I'm struggling a bit with photo coloring, as I am trying to use my new 50mm lens, which has a 1.8 aperature. I love it, but it will only manually focus on my D60, and I'm having a trial trying to get it focused correctly. Especially with moving targets. And I'm still learning how to get great indoor shots. If anyone has any good hints, I'd love to hear them.

I'm working hard on my new kit, cranking out all kinds of cute stuff, but I'm a perfectionist and want just the best in the kit. Hopefully, it will all be up by next week, plus a little freebie add-on! Stay tuned, cyber friends.

A more user-friendly blog

I went out and bought snow boots for the kids, I made a batch of chili, I pulled out the snowmen gear and the hot cocoa, school was cancelled, all in preparation for our first real snow in years. And can you believe it, there wasn't even a FLURRY here. Every weather forecaster in our area is hanging their heads in shame today as snow was predicted all day and it never came. Businesses closed, schools closed, and my poor 3 year old spent all day looking for it out the window, all to no avail (sigh). I guess it is all part and parcel of living near the ocean. I've decided to look at the glass half full, and hope those snow boots don't go to waste, as we have several more weeks of possible snow weather in us!

Do you like the new look of my blog? I'm beginning to get it ready to be a storefront as well, so look for changes to make it more user-friendly. It is very important to me that I keep things clean, simple, and easy to find. My dear cyber friend, Jeanette at EasyCustomBlogs is helping me as I put some Navigational buttons on top and do a little blog decorating. So, please bear with me as I start labeling posts and putting them where they belong and getting all the button links up and running. Thank you so much for supporting a new little designer.

Another Project 365 Freebie Template

Howdy! I'm a birthday widow tonight as my hubby is on his annual trek to Atlantic City with his Dad to celebrate his birthday. So, the kids are in bed on time and I've been wicked creative tonight. I've made a great new template, inspired by Emily Pitts layout in Simple Scrapbooks. Which, by the way, is ceasing publication and I'm completely depressed about it. Two of my favorite magazines folding in the same year. (sigh) On the positive side, I did get to use my template and make my 2nd week's layout for Project 365. I had a hard time remembering to take pictures, many of them taken at the end of the day. We also put a bid on a new house (keep your fingers crossed for me) and I brought my camera all three times I visited the house, and STILL forgot to take a picture of it. I'm a DORK. I hope you enjoy the free template and please leave some love if you can!

BTW - You're getting a sneak peek at my first real kit that I'm finishing up, called The Prince. I've used some of the papers and embellishments in my week 2 layout. I'd LOVE to know your opinions on them!

My first blog award!

WooHoo! I'm so excited to win my first award (I'm so new, I didn't even know they existed, to be honest). Thank you to Jeanette at Easy Custom Blogs for helping a new designer out. To keep the love going, I'm nominating these fine folks for a TLC Blog award.

Summertime Designs - A fabulous freebie designer who spent this fall collecting donations for her friend to help them out during a difficult health crisis with their child. I hope she's doing better, Summer.

NannaScraps - Another fine lady, who has given out some great commercial use overlays. How does she find the time with 12 grandkids?

Carena's Extravagance - A great designer, with a new great community over at Digidesignresort. They've been very helpful to me over there, go check them out.

MOriginials - A lady with AWESOME templates, and I'm a picky template scrapper.

Stolen Moments Design - I just found this new designer who just made a very cute adoption kit.

Ladies, pass this award on to 5 of your favorite blogs that practice TLC.

Happy Scrapping!

Word Art Freebie

Sorry, time's up. :) But you'll see this soon in a kit.

Top of the Frosty Morning to ya, fellow scrappers! This desert girl is NOT happy with the 30 degree weather we're having here today at the beach. Tomorrow will be in the 20's, brrrrr cold. I am truly, most definitely, a summer girl and it takes everything I have to make from Jan. 1 to my birthday at the beginning of March(which is when I can start to feel the start of spring). Luckily, I have my new business to keep me busy inside. Today's freebie is word art that I created from one of my favorite quotes ever. I found it while making a parenting quotes mini-album in Jessica Sprague's Type+Writer class, and it spoke to me. Maybe it's because as a former special ed teacher, I am always cheering for the underdog. Shel Silverstein summed up, in just a few sentences, what I want to instill in my children, because nothing would make me feel more fulfilled than watching them chase their dreams, whatever they may be (hopefully they won't include professional wrestling or pole dancing, lol). Grab this now, it's a limited time only freebie, as I am including it in my first for sale kit that will be available soon!

Links are up & running...

I've moved my files over to 4shared and they are live again. I'm working on a great word art and template to put up soon, please stay tuned...

Technical difficulties...

Thank you to a poster this morning, I've become aware of a problem with my MediaFire hosting site that has my zip files. So, files cannot be accessed right now. I really liked MediaFire's service because you didn't have to wait to download, but it appears that I will need to move over to 4Shared. I'm sorry for any inconvenience and I'll work on the links and my new freebie today and hopefully have everything running smoothly by tonight.

Want a good scrapbook fiction read?

I'm an avid reader, and you'll see that I like a wide range of literature by watching my marquee, but my all time favorite is the cozy mystery. While other girls had Barbie tea parties and dances, mine were dressed up like Harriet the Spy and went in search of missing cats and buried treasure. I was even going to be a private detective or an FBI detective (like in that 80's TV show Simon & Simon), but then my mom pointed out they had to carry guns and I decided against it. Anyway, one of my favorite authors is Laura Childs. Her first series heroine is a tea-shop owner in Charleston, SC and the other is a scrapbook store owner in New Orleans. This woman must be channeling me, as those are my two favorite obsessions in two of my favorite towns in America. She gives recipes in the back of both books, and she gives scrapbooking project ideas in the back of her scrapbook series. Just a little tidbit of my life I thought I'd share. Have a blessed Sunday.

Project 365 Week One Completed! in spite of the weather...

Yes, the wind is whipping, the rain is pounding, and the power's gone off a few times, but I somehow managed to finish this layout. It feels so good to have captured a little of our ordinary life down on paper. I think my next template will have more room for journaling though. Anyone else finish up tonight?

Project 365 Template Freebie

Sorry, link has expired.

Well, fellow photographers and scrappers, I have taken the plunge into Project 365 and hope that I can learn my way around my new dSLR and get better pictures. I am daily in awe of the photos Jessica Sprague gets of her children. I don't know about everyone else, but there are precious few photos of me as a child and I'm so very, very glad to be in the age of digital as my kids will have so many photos of themselves growing up that they'll probably be overwhelmed. Yet, I know how precious it will be to them and their kids/grandkids one day, so on I march into unknown territory. In that vein, I must have layouts for all these pretty pictures, so here is one I made tonight to use this first week. I hope you can put it to good use. I left all the blocks as clipping masks, and you can decide which blocks will hold pictures, which will hold journaling, and which will just house pretty papers/embellishments. I'll post mine when my week 1 is done! ENJOY!

Back to Basics

I finally got back to making papers, my most favorite thing to do in DigiLand, and then used them to make a few more cards. I often print out the digi papers at hoome and use them on my paper scrapbook pages. I'm committed to making at least a card a day and create a large inventory on my Etsy site, and make my site more marketable. I've also got myself a great commercial printer to use, so I can offer full services for my customers finally. Yeah.

Did you see the blinkie I made? A big shout out to Jeanette at EasyCustomBlogs for helping me out. Snag it for your blog and spread the SweetTomato word around, I'd really appreciate it. I'm also working on a Project 365 template that I'll put up soon for everyone.

Here are the three cards, which one do you prefer? I'd love to know your opinion.
